Brief summary of our teen's week 2 meeting
Luke 22:31-32 says that the Lord told Simon that satan desired to sift him like wheat. The Lord said that He had prayed for Simon that He would not fall. If Satan desired to sift Simon that means that he also desires to sift us. We need to become aware that Satan will stop at no lengths to make us stumble and fall from grace.
It’s his main goal to make us stumble so that we will be so ineffective we have no testimony or we ruin the one we have. The way that we become aware of Satan’s ploys is by reading and studying God’s Word. The more you read and learn the more you will see the enemy for who he really is. If we don’t read and study then we fall victim to Satan’s antics. When we allow this to happen then we are missing what God has planned for us. Jeremiah 29:11 reads, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”. This means that God has a plan for each of our lives. Jeremiah 1:5 reads, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee…” God knew the plans He had for us before we were even born. Satan will try to no avail to stop those plans so that you will never live victorious through Christ. If he can stop the plans that God has for our life then he knows no one else will get saved through us because we will not be sharing the Gospel with our friends and family. No matter what we go through in life we must remember that God has a plan for our life and if we stay faithful to Him He will show us what that plan is. Sometimes we feel that what we are going through is just too hard and we feel like giving up. But if we do, we will affect more people than just ourselves. We will affect those that God wanted us to reach for His sake.
In the below video, if anyone had a reason not to live life at all you would think that that it would be Nick Vujicic. Although he has born without arms and legs he doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for himself. He goes throughout the world telling others what God has done for him. Thousands have been saved through his testimony. He knew that God had formed him and made him the way he is for a specific reason. Nick could probably not reach those thousands of people if he had arms and legs. Just imagine if he would have decided to give up because he felt what he had to face was just too hard, how many people’s lives would have been affected by that one decision. God had a plan for Nick’s life before he was ever born just like he has a plan for our life. Let’s get inspired by Nick’s testimony and seek out the plan that God has for our own life. We too can reach those around us for the Glory of the Lord.
