Brief summary of our teen's week 1 meeting
Our first night of the AWANA season was a success. Because of time restraint, we'll give a brief summary. This meeting was orientation to the year's endeavors as well as a disussion time about Jesus paying the ultimate sacrifice that all of us can be saved. We felt it was very important to start this year asking the teens to search their hearts and determine exactly where they stood with God.
We used signs (shown to the right) as well as other signs (not shown) to illustrate analogies of how one can use them in principle to be saved as well as guides to maintain the path that is pleasing to Christ. Our hope is that when our teens are traveling to and from school, work, etc., seeing the street signs will jog their minds how they were illustrated in our devotion and will que them in aspects of their relationship with Jesus.
We strongly emphasized that only God can provide happiness in our lives and that He is the only means of us having eternal life in heaven. When we think of what God has done for us and the blessings he wants to shower us with, choosing to follow Him is not only the right thing to do but is the most reasonable thing to do. We concluded our devotion showing a powerful music video depicting the ultimate sacrifice that God gave us in order that we might be saved.
